Chad Goucher - The Plan

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers. 1 Timothy 1:8-9

He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 1 Peter 1:20

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he  predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.
Ephesians 1:4-5

Jesus was never a _____________________________.

1. Jesus is a better _______________.

So it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being;’ the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:45-47

The first Adam was _________________________________.

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12

Second, Adam is ______________________________.

He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. 1 Peter 2:22

2. Jesus is a better ______________.

Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. Romans 5:16

Adam brought __________________________.

Jesus brought __________________________.

3. Jesus is a better _______________.

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.  Romans 5:17

I’m not _________________________ for Adams actions.

I’m not ___________________ of Christ’s actions.

4. Jesus is a better __________________________.

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. Romans 5:18

Adam was ___________________.
Jesus is ____________________.

Questions for Change:
1. In my life do I treat Christ like a _________________________?
2. How is my _____________________ affected knowing that Jesus was planned for me ____________________________?
